Hosting Packages
Not only do we develop web sites we can also offer the complete
package and host web sites too. This gives us the opportunity to
offer our customers a single point of contact and support for all
their web site needs. Our hosting servers are New Zealand based to
ensure the best speed and availability for our customers.
We offer both manged and unmanaged packages.
Managed packages are primarily aimed at customers for whom we
have developed a website but may also be of interest to those with
pre-developed sites. We will monitor these sites to ensure that
they are running and investigate as soon as we detect a problem. We
will help you to load content to these sites.
Unmanaged hosting is where we provide you with the space. You
will manage your own site via a full featured console.
Shopkiwi provides unmetered web hosting - this means we don't
measure resource usage for billing purposes, however it does not
mean unlimited usage.
This means you don't have to worry about hitting an arbitrary
limit on your account (where your plan allows for unmetered traffic
or disk space) when you are uploading important files, or risk
having your web site shut down because it got popular and exceeded
a monthly bandwidth quota.
This works great for 99.99% of our customers and makes things
simple - no plans to upgrade just to get more disk space or another
email address.
So when would unmetered, become metered?
If you are one of the tiny percentage of sites we host that need
to use significantly more resources than what we consider fair, we
won't charge for excessive usage in arrears; instead we will
contact you to discuss future charges and/or alternative options if
we deem usage to be in excess.
What are examples of excessive usage?
- You use your web site storage space to backup large quantities
of files.
- You start using large amounts of bandwidth hosting files for
other sites.
- Setup one web site, then setup dozens of email accounts for
other domains.
Remember, there is no such thing as unlimited web hosting
Web hosting providers that promise customers unlimited resources
generally restrict those resources in their terms of service and
small print. That hardly seems unlimited, or fair!
We want to be up-front and fair with our pricing and services so
instead of promising unlimited, then restricting you on a terms of
service clause, we will work with you to keep your web site running
at a fair price.
